Even though we almost finished another semester at the academy and most of the assignments have ended I somehow feel restless which results in when I have some time off I still think in all the things I have to do.

Due the smart amount of brains I have this somehow results on the way I dress.

Sometimes I feel like walking around naked but since that is not a very good idea I tend to turn to cozy angora jumpers and leather.

I'm very aware of the fact that these aren't jeans but these words sung by Lana Del Ray reminded me of the fact that I haven't worn pants in a while.

Felt like playing with brighter colors and wear something bold namely a necklace that I also haven't worn in a while.

Since my style is pretty diverse and my choices in certain items can change there are always things you simply keep loving and becomes a part of your signature.

There are times that I tend forget that since I try to experiment as much as I can and therefore often try something new.

But eventually all pieces fall together and so do your signatures.

Trying to capture anything that I have been wearing lately turned into a disaster (image stepping out the door and having cats and dogs poor on your fur coat) and I have given up the hope of doing better than this.

It sure hasn't gone unnoticed that I have been very busy lately.

Unfortunately that chapter ended already after a lot of hard work.

We have been working on a new magazine and we finalized that this week.

Nevertheless these are some images made during the process and the last photo is one from the editorial we made.

As fashion director I somehow expected the styling of the editorial being a bit of a challenge since I had never worked with black before and it isn't close to my own style.

But it wasn't, it actually felt like I had done it before and as they say to be a stylist you must be diverse and there is a huge difference between styling yourself and being a stylist.

After months of hard work with a great time, a flash trip to London the magazine is finally finalized and I sure look back upon a great but most important creative process.

The plan was to capture a full look today but unfortunately due the horrible weather my face had more resemblance to a drowned guinea pig then my own.

Nevertheless since I wrote down the evolvement in style sometime ago I came across these detail shots that I do not always publish.

The first one is actually from what I'm wearing today and the others also from this month.

With the cold I tend to crawl into jumpers and somehow I have something for leather this time of year.

Unlike for instance summer where I can go all out with bright colors, this season I'm leaning towards some darker colors and combine them with some brights to play with contrast.

The cold has arrived after all so much for my dreams for an early spring.

All I can think of are beautiful pastels and lighter fabrics but I will have to live in my fur coat which I can almost combine anything and face the fact that I will both freeze my butt and legs off in a pair of leather shorts.

From the very beginning even when I started blogging I had always said that my style was diverse and there were only a few elements that have always been significant.
For instance high heels, those have been with me ever since I started walking on them when I was 15.
Nevertheless same as the industry works time changes and so does style.
Knowing who you are and what works for you shouldn't stop you from being experimental in my opinion sticking to one specific style only holds you back from others.
These thoughts came up while I was thinking of what I have been wearing last year and what I think I will be wearing this year.
I haven't worn a pair of jeans in almost a year, who knows even longer my obession with skirts/shorts and dresses have taken the overhand.
Unlike two years ago when I refused to wear anything black this year I have been combining black with another thing that is so recognizable when it comes to my style namely colors.
It has such a strong contrast that I can not understand why I was so stubborn in the first place.
Besides time and experiences in life it also has a lot to do with the fact that I'm building up a portfolio as a stylist where I try to experiment as much as I can and this also reflects on my own style.
My latest obessions are lines and textures.
Experimenting has always given me some sort of refreshing/new feeling without losing myself along the way.
By experimenting often comes the best and unique outcomes after all life is one huge experiment the more you experiment the better it can get.

Seems like this season I have been finding many sale items that I have seen before and craving ever since.

Found this leather jacket on sale for a ridiculous price (almost 75% off regular price) therefore I couldn't resist.

Paired it up with a leather skirt to add texture/contrast and a full red lips is it needed.

Taking these pictures was a challenge to say the least since there was so much wind.

I dislike any wind or breeze since it messes my hair up and makes it look like I have a mushroom on my head instead of hair and somehow I always seem to almost fly off into anything in front of me.

Nevertheless intrigued by the different tones of my latest purchases I decided to pair them together to create different lines/contrast and textures.

Lately my mind has been mainly on what I want to achieve in the next years and therefore I have been taking more steps to work on achieving that goal.

Taking matters in own hands and know that eventually I will get there.

Not the best way to visualize the whole look due a tight schedule and according to Jasper (who can give the best compliments at times) I looked a lot like Donatella Versace on each picture.

Even though I respect the woman I can not take looking like her as compliment.

I think that at a certain age flowers will scare me so I might as well enjoy it now.

I have this book case where I keep my books next to my shoes.

Last Friday after a full day and night of work my boyfriend took me by the hand and brought me to that book case where on the top shelf there was a wrapped present between my books.

I was more then surprised and it took me more then five minutes to open it because I was too nervous and once I ripped a small amount of the wrapping paper I started doing my unflattering jumps and Spongebob moves while screaming "OMG, you didn't".

This book was high on my wish list and I hardly discuss that with anyone except for Jasper who is a book collector himself.

Apparently my boyfriend knows me better that I think he does and I did not expect this wonderful surprise.

I will have to go read and see the whole book before being able to discuss it on the blog but I believe that will be very soon.

My boyfriend will be probably reading this so again merci mon amour.

One of the advantages of a fur coat is being able to wear something less thick underneath.

I was fascinated by the contrast in color and lines and decided to accentuate it more by adding the top.

The shoes were a perfect adjustment due the awkwardness and lines.

In between picking up styling for monday's shoot I found another sale purchase I simply couldn't resist.

Ever since I saw this skirt at Columbine it became something I was longing for but never could find.

Jasper was the one who told me he had found the skirt and immediately when I got my hands on it he regretted ever saying it since I stood in the store for ages thinking if I should do it or not.

Obviously I already knew I wouldn't be able to resist since it was one of the last ones and I haven't seen it before here but I thought maybe Jasper could convince me.

As you can see it failed but what do you expect if you place two so called shopaholics in a store (I prefer two people who enjoy shopping).

Shelter

Seems like I have found some kind of shelter in this coat.

It is warm and fluffy and makes me want to cuddle (ok I admit I cuddle myself sometimes) all day.

Went for a look where I played with materials and shapes but this is definitely not the last time you will see me with this coat.

Even though I still have a few days off time is probably the last thing I have.

Too much is never enough is something you will experience when studying on any art academy and mine is no exception.

Buried underneath a huge pile of homework planning anything else is simply not smart.

Nevertheless for one of the assignments Jasper, Habib and I were able to do one of the things we love to do namely going to expositions.

We chose the exposition Mode <3 Kunst in the Hague where they illustrate the relationship between fashion and art over the centuries.

I was mesmerized by the garments of the 2010 fall collection by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.

What I did not understand that these beyond beautiful garments were placed in a corner while other garments (in my opinion) got more exposure then they deserved.

Nevertheless Maarten Spruyt and Tsur Reshef created a beautiful exposition including pieces of Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Commes de Garcons which is definitely worth to visit.

Faux fur coat H&M Trend

Sometimes I am very inpatient but throwing my head against a wall to tell myself to be patient for once totally paid off.

I had seen this jacket about a week ago and I immediately loved it.

Since I am going to Paris in February a fur coat was one of the things I needed to buy and I had been to the market a few times looking for a vintage fur coat but that is pretty hard because of the fittings.

Even though I thought this coat was perfect the price tag was way above what I thought was worth it.

Last friday I saw the same jacket hanging on the sales rack and I almost flew into the rack to find my size.

70 procent off the regular price and last one in my size.

We were meant to be together and for once despite the huge bump on my forehead I realized that being patient can give you more in the end.

One of the things I promised myself was that I wasn't going to buy myself anything new for the holiday season.

Believing in my creative process and capability to reinvent was most important.

And so I did.

I actually bought this dress almost a year ago and can not remember ever wearing it.

At the end of the night I exactly knew why.

I came home and was longing for my bed so the first thing I wanted to do was get changed.

It wasn't until that point that I realized that I couldn't reach the zipper because the dress was so damn tight and no one was around to help me.

I tried every of my Beyonce moves to reach the zipper but failed big time.

There was no other choice left then to sleep in the dress.

It seems more then surreal that already another year has gone by.

I remember the times were I took the most ridiculous pictures in somewhat not that flattering outfits thinking I was as fierce as Naomi Campbell.

Times change and luckily I have left my Campbell poses behind.

Over the years knowledge has grown and I found even more of myself and I hope that I may be blessed and loved as much as I have been this year.

I wish that everyone who I love will achieve whatever they wish for and be happy.

This includes you, my wonderful readers.

Outerwear

Since I always take off my jackets to shoot outfit posts most of you think I walk around half naked.

Nothing is less true and therefore I thought it would be nice to show some outerwear sometime.

This is one of my favorite looks since most importantly it's warm but I love the fact that it gives me a mysterious look.

Whenever I wear this hooded coat which is actually already one year old people stare more then they already do since they want to know which giraffe is underneath the hood.

It gives the freedom to play with layers and textures and since I wear a lot of skirts I love to play with the shapes by showing a bit of the fabric.

And obviously a pair of heels can not be missed.

Investing in books is almost becoming as important as my goal to have at least 1.000 shoes.

I recently order The Selby is in your place by Todd Selby.

I have been visiting the site for over a year now and I am more then inspired how Todd creates this humoristic, personal approach which gives you the feeling that you are actually there.

Unlike the Coveteur which I adore as well Todd captures stuff just the way it is, not by working with a stylist who builds the image together with the photographer.

The book is a selection of Todd Selby favorite visits including Erin Wasson, Karl Lagerfeld, Oliver Zahm and Christian Louboutin.

The remarkable images and the illustrations completes the book which makes someone like me smile and close the book being inspired.

Reinvention is one of the most important aspects when it comes to my style and believes.

Sometimes simply playing with different textures and adjustments I can feel like the same as I would if I would buy something new.

Nowadays in my opinion many fashion blogs contribute a lot to materialism, just look to the Christmas wish lists that have been published on tons of blogs.

No realism of what others may not even have or where these holidays are for in the first place and suggesting that one could only be innovative by enlarging their wardrobe anytime after wearing a certain garment.

I rather challenge myself and create new with old.

It looks like I have finally decided what to wear on one of the Christmas days.

I was longing for either a suit or long dress but since I have forbidden myself to buy any garment I had no clue what I would wear.

I do not have a suit or a super long dress hanging in my closet so the only thing left was creativity.

Sporting the Celine resort 2012 look has been on my to do list for a while now and I accidentally had put these pieces together and was more then surprised what I created.

I never thought these separate pieces could work together.

Proves yet again that sometimes simply trying can have other outcomes than that you might think.

A trip to London without any sleep did resulted in both inspiration as in many new shots for my visual diary.

The reason I went to London in the first place was to capture streetstyle for a magazine we are now working on.

We went to some of my favorite places such as Brick Lane and every time I saw a vintage store I died a little inside because I knew we did not have any time to shop or do anything else.

I uploaded a small part of shots I took and the first thing that noticed was that I took photos of either looking into something or somewhere or shoes.

This could refer to the fascination of the unknown we are all curious what happens behind closed doors.

When I returned from London and had a few hours of class Jasper and I went to Boijmans where we were enchanted by the infinity mirror room by Yayoi Kusama.

The endless reflections play with your visual perception and seeing something that is so characteristic to Kusama's work up close was so worth the lack of sleep.

Unstoppable

After spending 24 hours in London and being awake for 21, I immediately had to go to the academy from the airport.

Time went by as I went from one point to another and even though I was more then tired and my body got the workout it hasn't had for decades (I do not walk that much I tend to do anything by public transport) I was pretty excited to see Jasper again (we are pretty attached to each other which means not talking to each other one day is more then weird).

After class we were walking to find a location for photos we passed by Boijmans Museum.

Both Jasper and I love going to museums and on wednesdays the entrance is free and we spontaneously knew and decided we had to enter.

We had a blast and ended the day at Koekela to have chocolate cookies and cake while now I can not keep my eyes open and my head has already felt on my desk twice.

While I'm in the city of according to Anna Wintour of identity here are some photos of either work or things I have seen lately.

Probably the last thing you would expect but my work for magazine have been all black assembles experimenting in layers and textures.

It has a lot to do with the magazine but I think it's a good way to build my portfolio and that even though I have eye for color I can show that I'm able to create with black as well.

I was more then surprised of what I have done so far since I didn't think I would pull it off since I'm so used to work with colors.

Proves again that if you never try you never know.

I have been living in jumpers lately since they are the perfect solution for the cold.

I have this huge crush on fluffy jumpers in luscious colors and this one is no exception.

It is more subtle then I normally tend to go for but that is why I find it interesting to combine with other colors.

Even though I am more a skirt kind type of girl I invested in some wool pants to protect me from the cold but this one from Zara shows that they provide clothes with a higher price then quality.

Only after wearing it a few times the hem of the pants got lose which results that it looks like I have one leg as long as a giraffe while the other is no longer then a pig tail.

We have lost our appreciation for tangible things and materials.

We live in some sort of digital bubble and who I am to judge since I carry my macbook and smartphone around everyday but the feeling of working with my hands is priceless.

Ever since my interest in fashion and everything around that has developed I have been collecting books and magazines.

The time will come were magazines will mostly exist digitally and excusez-moi for my language but I hope that time is long from here since I fucking hate reading magazines online.

I want to experience the whole content of a magazine by holding, smelling and browse through the papers so that all my senses are stimulated.

Are my senses being stimulated when I sniff my damn monitor?!

Don't think so.

For an assignment at the academy I started a project where I search upon the different layers/dimensions we can not find in the digital world and question our vision upon images and materials.

This was a simple try out to get my point across but from here I will work in collages using techniques such as cutting/burning/ripping and more.

I has been a very long time since the last time I had a sunday like this.

Dressed in a long jumper messy hair while I sit on white sheets and haven't done anything all day.

It feels pretty weird and somehow I feel useless like I have been lying here for weeks.

Nevertheless it has given me the change to think about things I normally do not get to think about due the hours I make and all the work I have to do.

I will continue counting my blessings while I try to get some things done starting with my nails who look like they have been living in a cave.

I had wished for a helicopter or a jet plane since 1991 but still haven't got one and now I wished I had one more then ever.

I had been looking forward to the opening of Azzedine Alaïa for months and Jasper and I were planning to go until our teacher Ari Versluis mentioned the Fashion Film festival in Antwerp.

The first stop would be the perfect cut (a series of talks with leading people in the industry).

Past speakers for instance have been Alex Fury and Zach Gold and this time Stephane 'Boy London' Raynor will be the one to be interviewed by Ari.

Other things that are on the agenda is The day before Versace & Narciso Rodriguez by Loïc Prigent, later the documentary the tents by Marcus K. Jones and I also read something about Ellen Von Unwerth & Peter Lindbergh later that night.

The fact that Azzedine Alaïa himself would be at the opening it made it more then difficult for me and Jasper to decide what we should do.

We wouldn't be able to attend both events due the distance and time.

We both couldn't make up our minds since we both would love to meet monsieur Alaïa and realize that this is probably our only chance to do.

Eventually after hours and hours of thinking we decided to go to Antwerp since we think we will get more out of that.

Even while writing this I still doubt but sometimes decisions simply have to be made no matter how difficult they are.

A pair of Nina Ricci's are more then above my budget but these sure made my eyes pop out as well.

We all know how I love extraordinary shoes and these ones are no exception.

The best thing of all is that these are 18cm high which makes me tall as fuck.

Which results in people staring even more then normal (and some even stare with an open mouth) but who cares I come from Mars and everybody can know.

With the cold that we are going to have a thick jumper could be useful.

I love red and the cut outs made the jumper so appealing that I could not resist bringing it home.

I blame Jasper for my purchases since it was his idea to go shopping for a bit (he ended up with four pieces and could still claim that I am the source for our problem) but I will be sure to thank him once I won't complain that it's cold since this jumper will sure keep me warm.

Unlike other days I finally had some time between class to find locations to shoot at.

Jasper and I who are always looking for new locations had this brilliant idea to shoot at a parking garage nearby the academy.

While we were climbing all the way to the top and finally found the right spot this guy in the most hideous neon colored coat started walking towards us and while I already knew why he was coming I desperately ignored him.

This isn't the first time Jasper and I pick out locations where most of the time people aren't allowed but this time we didn't knew, I mean it's a fucking parking garage.

Yet again it was probably the best day for the man in that hideous coat since he started pretending like he was the local cop and escorted us out of the garage.

To make matters worse (that happens when people who normally have nothing to experience at work) this other guy so called security came and started yelling that we were on private property.

While my eyes already started rolling he continued at least 10 minutes talking about how these academy kids always come here and the academy already knows we are not allowed to be there.

After my eyes fell out we could finally leave which unfortunately meant looking for another location.

We had something in mind and while we were on our way the storm got worse which resulted in Jasper and I almost flying off into a random building.

Taking the pictures was an impossible task since I looked like Cruella de vil on almost any one of them.

We thought that the only solution to not fly off again was to eat some carbs and sit for hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant (and it worked).

It seems like time is limited and I haven't found the time to do as much as I want for the blog.

You won't be surprised if I tell you that I arrive at the academy when it's dark and leave when it's dark as well.

It sure does not help that it turns dark so early which makes it hard to find locations to shoot.

This has to do for now as I continue working for the academy just like I have been doing the past few nights.

With the holiday season coming up this might inspire you to either give or wish this book for yourself.

Kate Moss came into the fashion industry at a very early age and everyone was mesmerized.

But who was most intrigued by the legendary supermodel is the photographer Mario Testino.

They started working together for Glamour, Vogue and from there their collaboration and friendship started to take form.

By that I do not mean looking ahead and planning ahead of things to do (when it comes to that I rather be spontaneous) but on what will come if I make certain choices.

I have been exploring who it is to create and deliver concepts and looks.

I spent the full day in the studios yesterday and I must say it amazes me how it takes more then hard work to create (which I already knew but now I can say from experience).

Especially gathering all the clothes and carrying it from location to location is what people seem to not know a stylist has to do as well (I have already dislocated two shoulders).

The past shoots that I have been doing show how different it is to style one other then yourself.

I have only been working with black and yesterday some lighter tones.

There are many more things I want to create and discover as a stylist, to be diverse and innovative.

The best feeling is that people do believe and me and give me the opportunity to deliver but the most important thing is that I believe in myself.

Somehow I have not been able to resist floral prints lately.

I had fallen over a floral blouse already when I saw these pants I knew I had at least try them on.

Despite the fact that I won't be able to wear these pants so often (which totally goes against my standard when buying something I must know and be able to wear it multiple times in different combinations) something told me to the chagrin of my wallet to do it anyway.

There was also a matching floral blazer which I desperately wanted to take with but the fitting was so poor.

If only they had made a good fitting blazer I could sport the Celine resort 2012 look I was so intrigued by.

I already threw out many items and I recently added these pointy heels to my collection.

These are my second pair of pointy heels and despite the high discomfort they look amazing under any pair of pants.

While I was browsing true an old issue of Self Service magazine my eyes fell upon a quote by Bruce Mau.

" When the outcome drives the process, we will only ever go to where we've already been. If process drives the outcome we may not know where we're are going but we will know we want to be there."

The whole part written by Ezra Petronio got my thinking.

I often feel like I am so focused on the outcome that I forget the process which is sometimes even more important.

Any experience defines who you are and where you will be.

It probably hasn't gone unnoticed that I have been buying many books lately.

My recent purchase was more then unexpected since I had found it at the H&M store while I was puking over the Versace for H&M collection.

The book 100 contemporary fashion designers by Terry Jones (creative director and founder of i-D magazine) has been on my wishlist for a while and I couldn't be more happier bump into it for a ridiculously low price.

The book is build out of two parts which give a comprehensive picture of the international fashion industry by presenting both emerging designers as the now respected names.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the industry.

It may have been the first thing that came to your mind, this girl buys way too many shoes.

But appearances are deceptive since these aren't mine but from a classmate were I traded shoes with for a few days.

A woman's best kept secret is to sometimes trade clothing or accessories with their friends to prevent the wallet to be more then empty and still have the capability to combine something new.

They may come with me to Amsterdam as well as the old issue of Self Service.

Still doubting if I should bring Self Service or an old issue of A magazine because even though the issue includes the breathtaking Lara Stone it's damn heavy and since I already have to carry a bunch of clothes to bring back (I did the styling for a video shoot last monday).

Not only as a fashion photographer but also as a film maker he consistently challenge the notions of beauty.

Nick Knights diversity brought him different creative collaborations with designers such as Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garcons and John Galliano.

Nick Knight is a genius, the one who was the first to seriously consider how fashion photography would be shaped and expanded by creating a platform on the internet.

It is more then fascinating to see someone who has been working for more than thirty years to still be innovative and extraordinary.

I constantly try to keep an eye on his latest work and this book has been the perfect addition to that.

The book consists more then 300 images and a strong introduction by Charlotte Cotton.

Besides my McQueen book this one also belongs to my collection of most fascinating books.

I am all sorts of trouble.

Starting with the most recognizable kind of trouble having to buy anything you want especially if you can get it with discount.

Hereby I forgive myself for buying the clutch I'm holding since it is pretty and it came with a huge discount.

Furthermore while showing it off yesterday morning I received a lot of compliments on it which means others have forgiven me as well.

Maybe less recognizable, I love anything that comes a long with an adrenalin rush.

Not many would expect that but like I said I am all sorts of trouble.

Later that day I ditched the clutch and lipstick and took my behind to skydive indoors.

Unfortunately I sucked balls which included kicking the instructor during my session.

Still I had a blast not sure if the instructor had too.

Every time we put our clothes on we make a statement about ourselves.

The morning started way too early and as always I had spent more time in my bed then I supposed to.

Therefore I started the day wearing palazzo pants and a pair of pointy heels while freezing my butt off on the set of a video shoot where I did the styling for.

One of the pieces I pulled for the styling were a pair of Dr. Martens which I have always loved on men.

Everything went quicker then expected and I couldn't wait to get home to change into something else.

Unlike others it depends where I start pulling pieces sometimes I work from the shoes up other times I work from the top down.

This time I worked from the top down and when I had everything but the shoes together I obviously looked into my closet which only contains high heels.

I had already pulled super high heels and while leaving my room I stumbled on to the Dr. Martens.

I was so curious how they would look on me that I put them on.

Miraculously I was so intrigued and fascinated by the whole look and feel it created that I traded them in for my heels.

I had pinched myself a couple of times and even took my temperature to insure nothing was wrong with me.

I remember not long ago when I spent a full day away from home walking constantly on high heels even though my feet were killing me I refused to accept the flat shoes Jasper offered me to wear.

In almost the five years that I have been walking on high heels there must have been a few times I was forced to wear flat shoes (even in the winter I was so stubborn that I continued walking on high heels until it was truly impossible due the amount of snow) and this was one of my most comfortable days ever.

There is so much to be learned about the behavior of dressing.

No guts no glory.

A few days ago Jasper and I took the car to somewhere far away from Rotterdam to shoot a fashion film.

Before changing outfits for the film Jasper took some random shots on a hill near the beach.

We were both intrigued by the lighting and how the colors appeared on film.

We didn't do anything afterwards with photoshop or any of that kind.

I was determined to take full shots of today's minimalistic/new shaped outfit but somehow I looked more like a donut on film then human.

They say that pictures make you look bigger than you really are and I hope that is the case because the last thing I want to look like is a donut.

Nevertheless I recently scored these low waist pants with wide legs during the sale and even though I have been addicted to high waisted garments I love this (you have to trust me on this one since you can not really tell how it looks like).

The combination of the vest with the cut outs had a great contrast against the pants and the only thing I wanted to add was the minimalistic necklace which is actually worn backwards.

My collection of necklaces seem to grow by that and my recent purchase is a silver one.

I'm very intrigued by gold jewelry and if I remember correctly (sometimes I forget what I have in my closet) this is my only silver bold necklace.

I love that is has a raw look and it sure won't go unnoticed.

The only downside is that the beautiful minimalistic detail in the back somehow isn't very solid.

After Mario Testino and Nick Knight my latest addition to my book collection is Savage beauty by Alexander McQueen.

We all know that he was one of the most influential, imaginative and provocative designers of his generation.

That he was a genius breaths true out the book but even without opening the book it already shows.

The cover is one of the best covers I have seen in a while.

The skull changes into a self portrait of Alexander when taking a closer look.

Savage beauty show McQueens evolution from the start of his label, to his year as creative director of Givenchy and to the collections of his own world known London house.

With contributors such as Susannah Frankel and Tim Blanks an interview with Sarah Burton this book is a must have.

Somehow a collar peeking out a jumper reminds me of preppy English style.

As if I was in London I switch's from my good girl image to a young rebel.

To prevent feeling like I'm was going to collage I decided to give the collar a sophisticated but minimalistic touch by throwing on cuff necklaces.

Still intrigued by combining colors with darker hues such as burgundy.

Later today I will go see the movie Restless by Gus van Sant which looks very promising according to the trailer.

Perfect way to end the weekend and start a week of brain tiring ass kicking hard working days on the academy.

I have been having trouble sleeping lately (even Alex Turner can not make me look into the inside of my eyelids).

The last thing on my mind was playing dress up (which I always do and therefore I always arrive too late on the academy) I simply took my new jumper and combined it with a pair of leather shorts.

The rich color was a perfect match to my brown leather shorts and all it needed was simply some burgundy accents on lips and nails.

On an early cold monday morning I forced my ass (well actually the academy and that on my day off) to what I so call at the end of the universe namely Eindhoven to visit the Dutch Design Week.

Nevertheless as the day went and I kept walking on high heels which eventually tortured my feet (well I actually my clumsy ass did because I thought my foot was skinny enough to fit true a bike rack well guess not since I hit my foot hard instead) I was most intrigued by some of the presentations we saw at the Design Academy of Eindhoven.

I was fascinated by Tomorrow's footwear from Elvan Ogten who explores the possibilities of technology and incorporates that into architectural heels.

Face your pain and forgive yourself by Wouter Lancee is something I won't forget in a while.

A project on the process of sins and forgiveness where he tattooed his back with the things he regretted in his life.

The tattoo was done without ink so it would heal afterwards.

Left the Dutch Design Week with a lot of thoughts and admiration (and at least 2kg heavier since I got myself a new book and we had sushi before heading back home).

I can hardly keep track of time anymore (it flies by as quick as Beth Ditto will run for a donut) Jasper and I had spent the day doing what we love the most.

We started off by seeing the movie Submarine which was a funny and very fascinating movie (all the characters where almost abnormal which was such a relief because it was another sign that I'm not the only and not the craziest person on the planet).

Later we visited the exposition by our friend LoLo and ended up at a small restaurant.

The exposition was about the definition of love and if it's defines a person.

Who are you and do you have the courage to answer the question?

Self reflection is something I have been doing very long and obviously a lot comes from my study and due the blog.

I know who I am, what I want and what I like.

Nevertheless you will never be free of all the impulses you get which can define or change your thoughts on either yourself or others.

Finding yourself is the longest and most fascinating journey to go true.

While one started ripping her tights as if she was a true badass and went to an industrial area to capture the outfit of the day as soon as she took off her jacket for the first few shots rain started pouring on her head (the only thing missing was lighting).

While packing up her stuff (I might be a rebel but I can not stand rain) my eyes fell on a text which was sprayed on a wall.

Which is Dutch for "after rain there will be sunshine".

Well believed me I had been desperately waiting for sunshine the rest of the day but it was a false promise.

I finally have little time off where I like to concentrate on the things I hardly get to do when I'm busy with the academy all the time.

Besides my trip to Antwerp I can finally take the time to watch the movies I have rented at the academy (tonight I'm watching Manhattan by Woody Allen) and read some books.

Even though the academy is closed, yesterday Jasper and I spent a few hours in the library (we are what they so call the biggest nerds you can image but we like to call it dedication) and buried ourselfs under the latest Self Service, all A magazine issues and books by Hedi Slimane.

It may sound strange coming from a bloggers mouth but I'm not a huge fan of all the digitalization.

There is something fragile about books the way a hand covers a book while holding it and the connection it makes with the person behind it.

It is one of the few havens where my mind can have private moments, feel and imagination.

Like Ovid said beauty is a fragile gift and I couldn't imagine my life without having a book in my hand which is both visually and emotionally integrating.

A small amount of heat outside would be very much appreciated at least for me.

The cold seems to suck any energy and color out of my skin resulting for Rotterdam to have one pale pancake running around.

I wasn't planning on taking photos of my outfit but since Jasper and I were already outside while the wind was blowing our hair off our heads and our skin off our faces we might as well took advance of the moment.

Burgundy may become my favorite color for fall because it has the perfect balance between color and darkness which is perfect for fall.

I have a few things on my wish list for fall and we will see what I end up with in the end.

Another day of absence this time due a short trip abroad to Antwerp.

I have been to Antwerp before and I have always loved the city.

The buildings, the atmosphere and obviously the shops.

Unfortunately I didn't find anything besides a few nail polishes (and believe me I have been everywhere from Urban Outfitters to COS to vintage) nevertheless with very pleasant company I had a lovely day.

Excusez-moi for the absence yesterday but I was too busy with moving my stuff into my new room.

Even though I'm very protective when it comes to my personal life I wanted to share some impressions of my new room.

Obviously everything is process right now but I couldn't be more happy because I now have a room with four closets and my own office.

When it comes to interior I love white it gives a room a sleek look.

I also prefer clean and minimalistic styling.

Furthermore I have a lot left to do for instance updating the shop since I have detoxed half of my wardrobe.

I even threw out some shoes even though it looks like my new room contains more shoes then anything else.

Wearing: Everything H&M except shoes and pants from Zara.

Fall temperatures are coming closer and closer and it already started to kick my butt.

If there are two season I hate it must be fall and winter.

I simply love high temperatures and burning sun and the only thing I can appreciate from the above is the atmosphere.

While Jasper and I were looking for a location after a long day at the academy I was feeling fine (obviously because I was wearing a coat) but as soon as we got at the ports not only did I almost got hit by my own mood board for the second time that day, I almost flew off into the water due the chilly wind.

The main reason for my feet to stay on the ground must have been my jewelry which adds a few grams to my body.

Felt like wearing my cut out jumper and add contrast in colors and accessories.

While I have a few short days left to prepare my pitch for magazine and obviously do other assignments as well dressing up was the last thing on my mind and I went for a very simplistic but sophisticated look.

Of course I couldn't resist of wearing my new shoes, I couldn't even care what color I would wear with it I simply had to wear them.

The outcome was good anyway because I think that blue and green look great together.

Another long day of work is waiting but whatever I do I do with a smile.

There couldn't be a better time for these pretty things to come since I'm getting a new room which equals throwing some shoes out and since I will be having a lot more closet/shoe space putting more in.

These are actually my first heels with a pointy toe since I wasn't really a fan of that and even though they are even a bit low for my taste the color and the look is so rich and striking that I couldn't resist.

You know what they say.

Never say never.

You never know what you will be wearing next season.

Even though the main reason why I was intrigued by the color burgundy is the options of color contrasts.

Nevertheless somehow I ended up embracing it by adding more burgundy and dark lips.

Like Emma from the movie One Day (which I saw saturday must see movie I cried at least five times but I also cried with the movies Wall-E and Up) said

Rain drops have been falling down my window all day and to break the chain I took my silver jacket to bring out some shine.

People are like windows once the sun is out they sparkle and shine but when darkness sets in their true beauty is only revealed if there is light from within.

After having wonderful days with unusual great weather for the month october the temperatures have unfortunately dropped again which nevertheless gave me the opportunity to combine my cut out jumper.

The cut outs somehow for me refer to Alexander Wang where I thereafter inspired my look on.

Nothing says more Wang then cut outs and leather.

Expect the unexpected has been key to this week.

While alternating between the academy and a somewhat social life I have been bumping into pleasant surprises.

1. Jasper and I spent our sunday together visiting a lifestyle market and some vintage/antique stores in Rotterdam. While looking for a location to shoot after we found this amazing wall which was a combination of photography/illustration and urban art.

2. Healthy and more then yummy. One of my favorite things to have for lunch.

3. A line which I found during an exposition. Somehow I found it both vigorous and hilarious.

4. I like to display my shoes in the weirdest positions.

Ever since the academy has started again I have been spending a lot of time in the library where we have everything from fashion books to art books and more.

There is also a possibility to rent dvd's and ever since Jasper and I have been renting many movies to see as inspiration and knowledge.

Somehow I have been renting movies which are about either about impossible/unusual love or anger.

Two people who desperately want to stay together.

It is really inspiring mostly due the fact that I have a total different perception when it comes to that because I find individuality so important.

To share yourself with someone else you must first fully know who you are and do the things you have always wanted to do.

I say the sky is endless and nothing should hold you back from even reaching there.

Even after you make mistakes still try.

To stare into your own reflection and be more than satisfied with what you see.

Every time we put our clothes on we make a statement about ourselves.

Wether it has to do with identity or tradition there is a story which is been told.

Along the way a story can get dull and looking for a new chapter to write can be challenging.

As it comes to style when one's are very certain of who they are style will involve by day.

Under involving includes change.

Diversity is what finds style and one's destination isn't a place.

One of the must haves when it comes to being a art student is a good bag.

While I have been mostly carrying around my satchels which I have in bright purple and grey I thought it was time for a new one in a more subtle color which I can combine with multiple things.

Besides the fact that I am probably the woman who carries more than she needs one of the things that often happens while going to class is that my shoulder dies under pressure of the things I have to carry for the academy so size is important.

When it comes to this one I do not have much to say.

In a total red assemble taking advantage of the great temperatures we have been having.

My mind has wondered off and I have been daydreaming non stop.

I can not put the blame on myself, it must be because I'm attending the most boring hearing class ever.

It deactivated my brain and all I can do is think of how reality must and will meet with my dreams someday.
