There are times where you look for something you simply can not find.

We all know that I adore leather skirts especially high waisted and I stumbled upon this leather fabric at the place I used to work and brought it home for less then a euro.

I immediately knew I wanted to make a pencil skirt and can not wait to find a bustier to create a very feminine prada chic look.

Took these out yesterday and like I expected they get a lot of attention and comments.

Some refer them to the Spice Girls (seriously, who didn't love the spice girls) other to the circus.

Myself couldn't care less what others think, these shoes are too fierce and I become a giant once I step into these.

And we all know how I love being a giant giraffe.

Ever since I cleaned out my closet I haven't got myself anything new yet and even though there are some things I want to get, I definitely appreciate my current pieces and enjoy combining them.

Spent the day walking down the streets of The Hague along with my siamese twin Jasper.

Stopped by one of my favorite stores COS.

I was looking for some basics and a dress but did not find (except beautiful undergarment) what I was looking for and left with two full bags instead for Jasper.

However they are some garments that I will definitely 'borrow' from him (and never give back).

With the last decision of cleaning out my closet I have entered the fase of carefully thinking of what I still have and what I will need to buy to have a stable but versatile wardrobe.

The things I currently want to invest in are some basics and a few garments with subtle colors or prints.

Selling most of your clothes sure isn't easy (I'm serious when I say that I went from four closets to one) but it gives such a refreshing/challenging new perspective on your style.

Sticking to what you know will only hold you back and at some point you must push forward.

Both restless body and mind creates the conflict of not being able to stay inside for longer than a day and it is pretty tiring since my mind says there is no time for rest while my body says otherwise.

However while running errands I somehow (Ok I admit I went looking for it) bumped into the book I-D Covers (1980-2010) and totally looking forward to read it in bed later today after I get some work done.

Oui we have had a few days of spring and I did not even knew it was possible (I mean little of the Dutch blood I have hardly has cost that problem before) but somehow half of my face got sunburnt and now I look like a shrimp with platinum blond hair.

Not to mention that only one half of my face got sunburnt (we all know which side that is).

Nevertheless I took little of my time to visit some exhibitions and make some time for myself in between the many things left to do.
To bloom one must feed oneself.

Marni for H&M shoes (sale)

I find it hard to define it in words but over the years which certainly did not go unnoticed my perception and interpretation of fashion have drastically changed.

It all has to do with the fact that I search for immersion/new visionaries and read more books/magazines.

The person I was two years ago and especially what I wore two years ago has totally disappeared and in my opinion grew into someone who became more sophisticated and able to distinguish herself from others.

Yesterday Jasper convinced me to finally break all the walls down and do a closet clean out.

It sure wasn't the easiest thing to do but after doing it and going from four full closets to one it felt more then good.

It gives me a better view of what I have and how I want to emerge my style.

There comes a time where you have to look ahead without looking back.

Times change and people grow.

I have been blogging for over three years now and needless to say that everything has changed.

From different hair cuts to a growth in style as creating a new visual approach.

Unfortunately nothing comes for free and sacrifices need to be made.

It probably hasn't gone unnoticed that I haven't been updating as frequently as I used to.

I have been putting a lot of effort into working as a stylist and on my portfolio and choose quantity over quality (what I mean by that is the useless impersonal posts simply to have content everyday).

However I would like to give back and take away some of the mystery and give you the opportunity to ask me some questions below which I will answer at the comment section.

Shoes Annemarie Westen

Those who follow on twitter and facebook might have know where my absence has been about namely focusing on my work.

I recently picked up these fantastic shoes for an upcoming shoot by the designer Annemarie Westen along with other pieces from her collection.

I hardly ever share any information regarding my work but yesterday was a day I will never forget.

Our work got published on both Fucking Young as The Fashionisto and I couldn't be more thrilled and proud.

Our goal was to at least have one publication this year and we were more then excited when we had two all on the same day.

I secretly was hoping on bumping into a vintage leather top which I could cut but with the lack of time to do anything I decided to make one myself while I have some days off.

Tiny rings H&M (old), Deformed white clutch DIY

I like to take things out of proportion and lately I also adore stiff materials.

Instead of using white leather and create something sophisticated I used some sort of soft white tarpaulin which I later dyed in placard paint to create the stiffness I longed for.

I was hoping for the paint to leave off but that will probably will happen in time as well for the clutch to be more deformed.

Good weather never lasts in the Netherlands and this is an ensemble of something I wore days ago.

I have been trying to divide my time between the academy, the library and shoots but somehow I can not seem to manage to squeeze everything into a day.

In that matter I wish that I could be more like Terence Koh who reads fourteen books at the same time (I tried three but failed miserably).

I like to imagine a world where the rules/requirements of male and female clothing is undefined.

The shirt is actually from the men department which I used for a recent shoot and cut off on the set.

I couldn't resist wearing it myself after, there is something I find mesmerizing about that small part of the waist being revealed while continuing into a line of a high waisted garment.
