Minimalism and fashion by Elyssa Dimant
A few days ago I received a question on instagram from an old reader why I suddenly changed my style since she prefers my old style and simply couldn't understand.
I had wrote something close to that topic before but since I sometimes still receive questions it might be a good time to explain it once more.
'People grow and change.
I have become more aware of how I would like to present myself and build up more knowledge.
To keep it short, I researched minimalism and felt strongly connected and all the pieces came together.
There are very few people who can understand that and I'm more then fine with that.
There is no such thing as simplicity when it comes to minimalism but not all are able to see the beauty minimalism comes with.'
That was my response on why my style has changed.
I have read a few books about minimalism already but recently added 'minimalism and fashion' to the collection.
It examines the minimalist movement in fashion while addressing it's influence from similar currents in art, architecture and design.
I have only finished one chapter so I can't share my thoughts on this book yet but so far I find it very intriguing.
Besides the informative texts, inspirational quotes, the book contains about 150 breathtaking images definitely worth my time.
